Ronald McDonald House Charities Ottawa provides a warm, comfortable and affordable place to stay for families who find themselves in the difficult situation of having a seriously ill child who needs medical treatment far from home.
65% of Canadians live in a city that does not have a children’s hospital.
Some families stay at Ronald McDonald House for days, weeks, months and in some rare cases, years.
Since opening our door is 1984, we have provided over 148,000 nights of comfort to families who have a sick child suffering at a nearby hospital.
RMHC Ottawa also operates two Family Rooms within CHEO to provide families with a place to rest, or gather as a family, have coffee/tea and snacks, do laundry and use the shower facilities.
Across Canada, RMHC is experiencing revenue declines of up to 60% because of the global pandemic, which includes fundraising events.

Skifest Facts:

Taking place on Thursday March 10, 2022, at Mont Ste. Marie.
We are taking it back to the 90s! Help us celebrate 30 phenomenal years of RMHC Ottawa’s annual Skifest event in all it’s neon glory. This year, we will be safely bringing our event back to Mont Ste. Marie to celebrate in person once again.
The 30^th anniversary of a signature event that has brought in over $2 million for RMHC Ottawa families deserves nothing short of an in-person ski celebration.
From our very first year on the slopes in 1992 with a handful of dedicated skiers, to January 202 where our event had grown to host 250 members of the Ottawa business community, to last years virtual event, Skifest has seen it all.
