On sale Thu February 17th @10 AM Kim Mitchell has been a fixture on the Canadian music scene since the mid-1970s. He began as the manic front man of the quirky, progressive hard rock band Max Webster, and gained prominence as a solo artist in the 1980’s. He later established himself as a popular radio personality and a mainstay on the summer festival circuit. He is among Canada’s most respected singers, songwriters and guitar players, having achieved critical acclaim and multi-platinum commercial success. Now, Kim will grace the newly renovated Bronson Centre Music Theatre stage, with a special one night only performance on Thursday April 21st, as part of the Legends series. The series kicks off with the recently rescheduled David Wilcox show on March 17th, an event that was postponed due to the Pandemic shut downs. Mitchell, through the influential and eclectic band Max Webster, defined “alternative” and “indie” long before the words existed in the musicial millieu. His heralded solo debut album Akimbo Alogo earned international acclaim with the classic “Go for a Soda.” And he’s been doing his “Rock and Roll Duty” ever since, amassing classic hits like “Patio Lanterns,” “Easy to Tame,” “Rockland Wonderland,” and “All We Are”. He has also built an enviable pile of gold, platinum and multi platinum albums, Juno awards, and other major awards, and was most recently inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. He released his 15th studio recording “The Big Fantasize” in 2020. ‘Legends’ Celebrates the iconic artists that have built the rich and unique musical landscape of Canada. Following David Wilcox on March 17th and Kim Mitchell on April 21st, many more special performances will be added, and announced, in the coming weeks.
