Rent, written by Jonathan Larson, is an inspiring rock musical that explores the lives of struggling artists in New York City’s East Village during the height of the AIDS epidemic in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The story follows a group of young bohemians who are trying to create and perform their art while dealing with poverty, drug addiction, and discrimination. Rent is a powerful commentary on the importance of love, friendship, and community in the face of hardship and adversity.
Our local, non profit community theatre company, Suzart Productions, is thrilled to be performing the musical “RENT” this December 6-10. This culturally relevant musical serves as a compelling reminder of the significance of celebrating diversity and underscores the profound impact of love in our lives.
