On Thursday, the number 1 trending hashtag on the major social media platforms in #Canada (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat) was the #JerseysForHumboldt hashtag. Thousands of Canadians, whether individually, or as part of a business or organization, proudly wore team jerseys of all kinds and uploaded them to social media in support of the Holboldt Broncos hockey club and their families.
The people of Humboldt, Saskatchewan continue to deal with the deaths of 16 members of their hockey team and several players remaining in hospital after their team bus collided with a transport truck while on the way to a playoff game last Friday. Some of those players will be laid to rest this weekend.
To the good people of Humboldt, please remember that an entire nation is standing with you. 💛💚🏒🇨🇦
