Alexei Yashin could be putting on a Sens jersey one more time, and fans are divided.

The Ottawa Senators are gearing up for the big alumni game on the Hill coming up on December 15th, and we’ve finally started to get a look at the lineup!

Daniel Alfredsson and Chris Phillips were announced as the captains late last week, and since then, names like Patrick Lalime and Wade Redden have been added to the roster.

But they aren’t even CLOSE to the most shocking invitee; the Ottawa senators have reportedly invited the ever-controversial Alexei Yashin back to take the ice in a Sens jersey once again.

Yashin, who was captain of the Ottawa Senators in the mid-to-late 1990’s, left Ottawa with quite a reputation among fans, after some bitter contract disputes and an NAC donation fiasco.

According to this Ottawa Sun article, the invitation has been extended to him, but there his agents are saying he is uncertain if he will be able to make it for the game.

Fans are giving a mixed reaction about the news, either way;

The game is coming up on December 15th, on Parliament Hill.
